Welcome all newbies! Hehehehehehehe. Been there. Done that! In case you are wondering.....We waited until we were at level 20 before getting our V.I.P. status so everything I put here, I have learned the very hard way!
Trial and error and lots and lots of time figuring things out......sheesh that alone should have granted us a little 'hanging man' icon somewhere....for glutton for punishment! lol
So.......here are a few things I have learned and thought to pass along to you who really want to know.....there is of course the FuBaR bible....which has most everything you will need to know...but there are a couple of things that you can miss...
1. The ability to rate pics does NOT mean that you can be an ass! People post personal pics....of themselves, their family, their pets.....if you can't rate a 10 then don't rate at all! These pics are important to them in some way and devaluing the pics devalues them as well....NOT cool and it's down right mean! You can put down the mouse, roll away from the puter and return later to myspace....it's that simple.
NSFW pics.....these are pics that are , of course, Not Safe For Work...these pics contain either nudity in some form or fashion, or harsh language or adult/mature content NOT suitable for children.
A LOT of the NSFW pics you will come across will NOT be of the actual member your checking out!
And when there ARE pics of that nature of the member? Don't be a shit and get your ass in a KNOT just because they don't know you so wont show you! Being here on Fubar is NOT a PORN site, free for all so that you can harass people to show you their private albums.....lol. For that very reason, my pics have been removed.....you can check out Joe all you want lol.....my husband doesn't mind! hehehehehehehe
If you want to see pics like that, then you better be willing to be more than a voyeur.....many women here are great people not 'just' eye candy.....they are delicious in more ways than one...and can end up being your greatest friend and/or advocate here. Don't ruin it with demands, begging or being rude....lol It'll just get you blocked from their page....you can go but do nothing there....and that's not fun.
2. The more points you get and give the more you can do here. Your level lets you add more pics, rate more profiles, leave more comments, buy more gifts, and have tons more fun! So add as many pics as you can.....Not all have to be of you....people love seeing graphics that they might not have ever seen before! So add, Add, add! The more you have the more people can visit and rate for you!
3. If you are serious about being here, and taking advantage of everything that Fubar has to offer?.... Then add a SALUTE picture of yourself!
A salute picture is one of you, placed in front of your HOME page screen (not your actual profile page!) with a paper that has FUBAR, your name, your id (Member) number on it.....Submit this as a salute pic and within 24 hours (usually =D) you will have a salute pic. Many many people here prefer to rate, add, fan those who have a salute pic! Also, a salute pic is the ONLY (unless you are VIP) way you can get higher than level 10....your points will continue to rise but you wont get any higher without it. And.....once you do have a salute pic approved....you are then bumped up to the level you should be.
4. Happy Hour - This is an hour purchased by a member that allows others to get double the points etc during that time. So every rate you do every pic you add, grants you double points.
Also, gifts purchased at that time are at a discounted rate.
And....when you see that pic up there on upper left hand side of your page? Go there! Say thanks! It only takes a second and can be very rewarding to you too! I've met some of the GREATEST people that way....
